Street Fighter 6 patch notes show big updates and balance fixes in the newest SF6 version.
System / Universal Changes
- Perfect Parry now requires holding the correct direction (down-back vs back) to trigger the screen freeze effect.
- Beating a throw (throw escape) gives more Drive Gauge and Super Art meter than before.
- Moves that begin with crouching medium kick now have tweaks so they can’t always lead into throw escape after Drive Rush light attack.
- Jumping attacks in Modern controls now vary depending on whether the Assist button is held.
- A new Assisted Combo option is added for Modern controls: after a rapid-cancelable light attack, pressing ↓ + Assist + Light will perform a special combo string.
- Fixed weird behavior near corners (side switching, differences between Player 1 / 2) and improved consistency in buffer inputs.
New Character & Content
- Elena joins the roster as a new DLC fighter with her own move set.
- Outfit 3 is added for Elena, as well as for M. Bison, Terry Bogard, and Mai Shiranui.
- All 25 fighters receive some sort of balance adjustment in this update.
Major Character Changes
- Ryu: His Denjin Charge powered moves are buffed — faster startup, more hits, and reduced hitstop/blockstun.
- Mai Shiranui: Her Standing Heavy Kick was nerfed — longer recovery and a larger hurtbox.
- Cammy: Fixed an issue preventing cancel into Super Art 2 from Swing Combination.
- Rashid: The hitbox for Arabian Cyclone (normal version) restored to intended size (it was unintentionally expanded).
- Terry Bogard: Power Drive’s advantage on hit/block was tweaked (recovery reduced) so it matches intended performance.
- Zangief: Overdrive Russian Suplex damage corrected (it had dropped unintentionally).
- Sagat (in August patch): Released in a later update; multiple minor tweaks and bug fixes made to interactions with Tiger Shot, etc.
