Life Is Strange 2 Choices lead to four main endings, plus a few small variants, based on how moral Daniel becomes and whether Sean surrenders or forces crossing the border.
How Choices Shape the Ending
Sean’s decisions throughout the game affect Daniel’s view of right and wrong. If Sean often encourages kindness, restraint, helping others, Daniel gains high morality. If Sean uses power, steals, or acts harshly, Daniel leans toward low morality.
At the final moment, Sean must either surrender to authorities or ask Daniel to use his power to cross. That final decision, combined with Daniel’s morality, determines which ending you see.
Also, minor earlier choices (like your relationship with Cassidy or Finn, or whether you called Lyla in Episode 1) don’t change the main ending drastically — they only change small details or extra scenes.
The Four Main Endings
1. Redemption (High Morality + Surrender)
Sean gives up and surrenders. Daniel, having been guided with good choices, avoids a dark path. Sean goes to prison for many years, Daniel lives in safety (with family or guardians). After Sean finishes his sentence, they reunite.
2. Parting Ways (High Morality + Escape)
Even though Daniel has good morality, Sean chooses escape. Daniel helps clear the path with his power. Sean crosses into Mexico, Daniel stays behind. Daniel lives under restrictions, but Sean remains free in Mexico.
3. Blood Brothers (Low Morality + Escape)
Sean and Daniel cross the border together. Daniel, having embraced harsher choices, fully supports Sean. They live together in Mexico and often use Daniel’s power in a more aggressive or self-serving way.
4. Lone Wolf (Low Morality + Surrender)
Sean tries to surrender, but Daniel refuses. Daniel uses his power to push through the border. Tragically, Sean is shot and dies. Daniel ends up alone, in Mexico, with a lone path ahead.
Minor Variants & Extra Scenes
- Lyla variant in Redemption: If you called Lyla in Episode 1 (and again later when possible), she appears in the ending scenes with Daniel and [family].
- Cassidy / Finn variants in Parting Ways or escape endings: If you built a strong bond or romantic connection with Cassidy or Finn, extra images or scenes show Sean with them in Mexico.
- These variants do not change who survives or the main fate of Sean and Daniel — they just add emotional flavor.
How to Gear Towards a Specific Ending
For Redemption
- Always choose the more compassionate, honest, peaceful option when possible.
- Avoid encouraging Daniel to use powers for violence or stealing.
- At the border, choose surrender.
- Also call Lyla early if you want the Lyla variant.
For Parting Ways
- Maintain high morality as above.
- In the final scene, ask Daniel to use his powers to help escape.
- Build relationships (Cassidy or Finn) if you want extra flavor.
For Blood Brothers
- Encourage more selfish, forceful, or aggressive choices to lower Daniel’s morality.
- In the final scene, use Daniel’s power to escape alongside Sean.
For Lone Wolf
- Make harsh or morally questionable choices from early episodes.
- At the final moment, pick surrender. Then have Daniel refuse and force crossing using his power.
